Study Old Mill - Nordwestmecklenburg



This work is an analysis that aims to present a refurbishment project and conversion measurements for the main building facility of an existing 1912 Mill complex, currently inactive, and under historical protection, found in Bad Kleinen, Germany.


The refurbishment work is part of the urban master plan study for the Mill ́s site. This work is an evaluation and proposal for the building re-purposing and conservation, with a new usage concept, considering sustainable construction actions. The proposal will consider measures for adapting the building to meet current standards and contemporary demands like thermal performance, noise control, removal of hazardous materials, flexibility of space usage, and others.
